Are aluminium doors suitable for coastal areas?

Yes, aluminium is the best metal choice for coastal façades because it forms its own protective oxide layer. Our alloy is 6063-T5, and the finish options — anodised (champagne, bronze, black) or polyester powder coating — add another 60-80 micron barrier against salt spray.

For projects within 1 km of the sea we upgrade three details free of charge: (1) 316 marine-grade stainless steel hinges, locks and fixings (standard is 304), (2) a fluorocarbon (PVDF) powder-coat option rated for 1000 hours salt spray, and (3) drain holes in the frame to let saltwater escape. This setup is the same system used on hotels in Phuket, Dubai and the Mediterranean.
