13How quickly will your team respond to technical questions?

Our sales engineer replies within one working day on WhatsApp, WeChat or email, usually within a few hours during China business time (GMT+8). Engineering questions involving drawings, certification or structural checks are answered within two working days, with the relevant calculation or drawing note attached.

For active projects we set up a shared group chat with the engineer, QC and production planner, so issues are visible to the whole team instead of bouncing between people. During installation our engineer joins a video call on the same working day if your site team sends photos before 4 p.m. China time.

14Can I order spare parts after delivery?

Yes. We keep spare parts in stock for every series we ship: seals, gaskets, hinges, lock cylinders, handles, closers and small glass units. Spare parts are sent by express courier and arrive within one to two weeks worldwide, so you do not have to wait for the next sea container.

Order with your original order number and the door serial number printed on the frame, so our warehouse picks the matching hardware version. Small spare parts are free under warranty; beyond warranty we charge parts at list price and only the express freight. We recommend ordering 2 to 3 % extra seals and hinges with your first project for site repairs.

15What should I do if doors arrive damaged?

Take photos of the outer carton, the packing list and the damaged door within 48 hours of unpacking, and send them to your sales engineer with the container number. We compare the photos with the loading photos taken at our factory to separate transit damage from loading fault.

If the damage happened on our side, we ship replacement panels or parts with your next container at no cost, or credit them on the proforma invoice. If the damage is from the carrier, we provide the documents your forwarder needs to file the insurance claim. We inspect every unit before loading, so serious damage is rare in practice.

16What tools and preparation does my site team need before installation?

Before our doors arrive, your site team should have the rough opening finished and dry, plus basic tools: spirit level, tape measure, rubber mallet, power drill, screwdriver set, silicone gun and shims.

We supply a printed installation guide in your language and a 3D video tutorial, and our engineer can join a WhatsApp or video call during the first day of installation. Confirm the opening size against the shop drawing before framing — a 5 mm deviation is acceptable; anything larger should be flagged to us before delivery.

17Which shipping methods do you offer and how long does delivery take?

We ship by sea FOB (Shenzhen or Guangzhou) and CIF to your destination port; express courier (DHL, FedEx) is used only for samples and small spare parts. We do not typically ship full doors by airfreight because of size and cost, but can discuss it for urgent hardware.

Sea transit takes about 25 to 35 days to Western Europe, 15 to 25 days to the US West Coast and 30 to 40 days to the US East Coast via the Panama Canal. We book the vessel about one week after production is finished and inspected, and send you the Bill of Lading, packing list and commercial invoice within three working days of loading.

18How are your doors packed for sea freight?

Every door leaf and frame is packed in a five-layer carton with foam corner protectors and edge board, then strapped onto a pallet or loaded in a 20GP / 40HQ container with dunnage filling empty space. Glass panels and aluminium frames are wrapped in bubble film and corner posts to prevent scratching.

Leaves are packed flat or on edge depending on the container plan we prepare for you, and we photograph the loading of every container so you can check stowage before the ship sails. The packing is designed for 30 to 45 days of ocean transit with humidity variation, and each carton carries the handling marks for forklift and warehouse stacking.

19What are your deposit and balance payment terms?

Our standard terms are 30% T/T deposit upon order confirmation and 70% balance before shipment, paid against the packing list and bill of lading copy. Production cannot start until the deposit arrives in our account, so the lead-time clock starts on the receipt date, not on order confirmation.

For long-running hotel or residential projects we can split delivery into several containers and balance each shipment separately. Established customers may request a reduced deposit or longer balance window after two to three completed orders; this is agreed case by case with our sales director.

20What payment methods do you accept?

We accept telegraphic transfer (T/T) and irrevocable letter of credit at sight for export orders. T/T is the most common route: 30% deposit when the order is confirmed, 70% balance against the copy of the bill of lading before the container leaves China.

For repeat buyers or projects above USD 50,000 we can negotiate an L/C at sight issued by a major international bank. Credit cards and PayPal are used only for small sample payments, not for bulk orders. All payment details are confirmed in the proforma invoice before you wire the deposit.

21Can you produce doors under my own brand and logo?

Yes — OEM and ODM are standard for us. We manufacture steel, wooden, WPC and aluminium doors with your logo on the leaf, frame, hinge cover, carton and installation manual. Your brand artwork in AI or PDF is adapted to our production tolerances, and we keep your design files confidential under a signed NDA.

Private label carries no extra mould cost on our standard series; custom moulding is quoted separately. The minimum order for branded production is the same as our standard MOQ of 10 sets per item, and orders of 500 sets or more qualify for volume discounts.

22Can you provide copies of your certifications and test reports?

Yes. We share copies of our Intertek WHI C-Mark listing, CE declaration of performance under CPR, test reports and / classification certificates with qualified buyers by email or under a short NDA to your purchasing team.

Test reports are issued by notified or third-party laboratories and cover the door leaf plus frame construction. If your local authority requires an additional factory inspection or a specific certification for your market, we coordinate the documentation with your project consultant before production starts.

23Can I order samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes. We supply single-door samples and finish chips before mass production so you can confirm colour, veneer grain, hardware feel and door weight. Sample pricing is higher than the bulk unit price because it is produced as a one-off, but the sample cost is credited back against your first container order.

Samples take about 15 to 20 working days to make and are sent by express courier, not by sea, so they arrive in one to two weeks after dispatch. Once you approve the sample, bulk production follows the approved sample exactly.

24How do I get a quotation from Skylink?

To get a quotation, send us your door schedule or project list by email or through the contact form: product type (steel, security, wooden interior, WPC or aluminium), quantities per size, required hardware, finish and any certification target such as CE or WHI. Our sales engineer replies within one working day with a unit price, lead time and MOQ confirmation.

For project tenders we also review your shop drawings and dimensions, and flag any items that need structural confirmation before we quote. Include your destination port so we can show FOB and CIF options in the same offer.

25What warranty do you provide on Skylink doors?

Skylink provides a standard structural warranty of five years on steel, wooden, WPC and aluminium door leaves, covering deformation, coating defects and failure of the door structure under normal use. constructions are covered under the same terms, provided the door assembly — frame, leaf, hinges and seals — is installed and maintained according to the supplied documentation.

Hardware such as locks, hinges, closers and handles carries the warranty of the respective hardware brand, typically one to two years, and is replaced rather than repaired in most cases. Wear items such as gaskets and seals are excluded from warranty but are supplied as spare parts.

The warranty process is handled by the Skylink export team directly: buyers send photos or a short video of the issue, our engineers assess whether it falls under warranty, and replacement parts or units are shipped with the next container to the region. Every shipment is inspected before loading, which is why warranty claims remain low in practice.

26Anodised vs powder coated — which aluminium finish?

Both finishes are durable; the choice is mostly aesthetic. Anodising grows a 15-25 micron hard aluminium oxide layer into the metal itself, giving a satin metallic look in champagne, bronze, black or silver. It will never peel, and develops a natural patina over decades — the classic architectural aluminium look. Powder coating applies a 60-80 micron polyester (or PVDF) paint layer and lets you match any RAL/NCS colour, including matte black, anthracite grey, white and custom project colours.

Both carry a 10-year exterior warranty against chalking, fading and adhesion under normal conditions. Powder coating is cheaper and more colour-flexible; anodising is more scratch-resistant and aluminium-authentic. For coastal or high-UV façades we recommend PVDF powder coating over standard polyester.

27What wind load rating do your aluminium doors meet?

Our aluminium doors are engineered and tested to EN 12210 Class C3 / B3, which corresponds to a positive/negative wind pressure of about 2.0 kPa — the level required for high-rise residential towers, typhoon zones in Southeast Asia and hurricane-prone coastlines on request.

The performance comes from the 6063-T5 profile wall of 1.4-2.0 mm, the multi-chamber internal structure, EPDM dual seals and the European multi-point mortise lock pulling the leaf firmly against the frame. Air permeability is Class 4 (EN 12153) and water tightness Class 8A (EN 12154). For higher-rise or hurricane project files we can supply structural calculations and test reports.

28Are aluminium doors suitable for coastal areas?

Yes, aluminium is the best metal choice for coastal façades because it forms its own protective oxide layer. Our alloy is 6063-T5, and the finish options — anodised (champagne, bronze, black) or polyester powder coating — add another 60-80 micron barrier against salt spray.

For projects within 1 km of the sea we upgrade three details free of charge: (1) 316 marine-grade stainless steel hinges, locks and fixings (standard is 304), (2) a fluorocarbon (PVDF) powder-coat option rated for 1000 hours salt spray, and (3) drain holes in the frame to let saltwater escape. This setup is the same system used on hotels in Phuket, Dubai and the Mediterranean.

29What glass specifications do you use?

Standard glazing on our aluminium doors is 5+12A+5 double tempered insulating glass (two 5 mm tempered panes with a 12 mm argon/air gap), and AuroraVista upgrades to 6+12A+6. Options include clear, frosted, tinted, Low-E and laminated glass for ground-floor or security-sensitive projects.

All glass is tempered to EN 12150 / CE 12150 and carries a Safety Glass mark. The spacer is warm-edge aluminium with butyl secondary sealant. Acoustic options go up to 36 dB with a laminated acoustic laminate; thermal options reach U = 1.1 W/m²·K with triple Low-E glazing.

30What is a thermal break aluminium door?

A thermal-break aluminium door separates the interior and exterior aluminium profiles with a 24 mm polyamide strip filled with 25% glass fibre (PA66GF25). Because plastic conducts heat roughly 100× less than aluminium, this bridge drops the frame's U-value from about 5.5 W/m²·K (standard aluminium) to roughly 1.8-2.5 W/m²·K.

All our aluminium doors — FjordNarrow, AuroraVista, VinterMeridian, SagaGlass, LundPane, BalticDuo, TundraBlade, BessaLoft, CarpathBrise — use 6063-T5 alloy with 1.4-2.0 mm wall thickness and the PA66GF25 24 mm thermal break. Combined with 5+12A+5 double insulating glass, the whole door achieves ≥30 dB sound insulation and meets passive-house-level insulation for most residential entrances.

31Do WPC doors fade in sunlight? What is the warranty?

Our WPC compound includes built-in UV stabilisers and light inhibitors, and the surface is laminated with PVC or melamine that carries its own UV protection. Under normal interior use and shaded external use, colour change (ΔE) stays below 3 after 5 years, which is why we offer a 5-year fade and discolouration warranty.

The structural leaf — no swelling, no delamination, no hinge-loosening from dimensional movement — is also covered for 5 years. Hardware (locks, hinges, handles) carries a 2-year warranty. For fully sun-exposed south-facing façades we recommend upgrading to our aluminium door range, where the powder-coated finish is rated for 10 years exterior UV exposure.

32What should I know about installing WPC doors?

WPC doors install very much like wooden doors and use the same standard frame and hinge layout (we supply hinges, handle, peephole and lock cylinder as standard). Three practical tips for your site team:

Pre-drill all screw holes for hinges, handles and locks — WPC is denser than MDF and can split if screwed directly.

Leave a 3 mm expansion gap between the leaf and frame on the sides and top, and 5-8 mm at the bottom, because WPC expands and contracts slightly with temperature.

Seal cut edges with silicone or PVC edge-tape rather than wood filler, and avoid fitting the leaf directly on wet screed.

We provide multi-language installation manuals and HD video tutorials, and can coordinate an on-site supervisor for project orders above 200 sets.

33How do WPC doors compare to solid wood doors?

The two materials serve different jobs. Choose WPC when the door lives in a wet, humid or high-traffic environment — bathroom, kitchen, hotel corridor, rental apartment. It costs 30-50% less than solid wood, needs zero oiling or re-painting, and will not warp or swell. Sound insulation is 25-38 dB, fully adequate for interior rooms.

Choose solid wood / veneer when the project demands the authentic grain, tactility and acoustics of natural oak, walnut or ash — typically luxury residential interiors, boutique hotels and boardrooms. WPC can be textured to mimic oak, walnut or teak, but under close inspection and touch the difference is noticeable. Most of our project buyers use both: WPC in wet areas, wood in living spaces.

34Are WPC doors waterproof and weather resistant?

Yes — this is the main reason buyers choose WPC over MDF or solid wood. Because the wood fibre is encapsulated in recycled polymer, WPC absorbs less than 1% water after 24-hour immersion, compared with 8-15% for raw MDF. It will not swell, delaminate, rot or attract termites, and is therefore the default choice for bathrooms, kitchens, basements, laundry rooms and coastal or tropical projects.

Surface options include PVC lamination, melamine, painting or primer, all of which add an additional UV and water barrier. We still recommend an overhang or canopy for fully sun-exposed external doors, where our thermal-break aluminium range is a better long-term choice.

35What is WPC door material made of?

WPC stands for Wood Plastic Composite. Our WPC doors are an engineered blend of approximately 60% wood fibre, 35% recycled polyethylene/polypropylene and 5% coupling agents, UV stabilisers and foaming agents, extruded into a solid 40 mm or 50 mm door leaf. The FjordMatte series, for example, ships at 40/50 mm with PU or chipboard infill and a choice of PVC, melamine, painted or primer surface.

Because the wood fibre is fully encapsulated in plastic, WPC does not absorb water the way natural wood does. It is certified to ISO 9001, CE and CCCF, and achieves 25-38 dB sound insulation — close to a mid-range wooden door at a lower price point.

36Are wooden doors suitable for exterior use?

Our standard wooden interior doors (40-60 mm) are engineered for conditioned interior spaces where RH stays between 30-65%. They are not recommended as fully exposed exterior entrance doors in rainy or coastal climates, where sunlight, rain and salt air will attack the finish within 1-2 years.

If you specifically want a wooden exterior door, we offer an exterior-grade build-up: teak or Accoya solid wood, two-part PU sealer, stainless steel hardware and a storm-protection overhang detail. For most residential and commercial entrances, however, we advise choosing our steel security door or thermal-break aluminium door line — they give the same aesthetic with a 10-year external warranty.

37What surface finishes are available for wooden doors?

You can specify the finish at the order stage. The main options are: natural hardwax oil (matte, breathable, tactile wood feel), water-based lacquer (matte/satin, low-VOC, standard for interior doors), PU paint (high-gloss or matte, custom RAL/NCS colours) and reconstituted/laminated finish for high-traffic commercial projects.

All our paints are water-based, low-VOC and meet E1 / CARB Phase II emission standards. For external or wet-area doors we add a two-part polyurethane sealer and recommend our aluminium or WPC ranges instead for fully exposed locations.

38How do you prevent wooden doors from warping?

Warping is the #1 enemy of wooden doors, so we engineer against it from the timber yard. All solid stiles and rails are kiln-dried to 8-12% moisture content and stored in a climate-controlled workshop for at least 4 weeks before machining. The core is cross-laminated finger-jointed pine or MDF/HDF, and veneer is applied to both faces with equal thickness and grain direction to balance internal stress.

Every batch goes through a 72-hour humidity cycle (95% RH then 20% RH) and is measured for bow, twist and cup before painting. With this process our doors hold a straightness tolerance of ≤2 mm over 2100 mm, backed by a 5-year warranty against structural warping.

39Which wood species and veneers do you offer?

Our standard veneer and solid-wood range covers European white oak, American black walnut, white ash, teak, beech and maple, all sourced from FSC-certified suppliers. Painted finishes (RAL/NCS colours) on MDF/HDF are also available for contemporary projects.

For multi-door projects we offer book-matched and slip-matched veneer so that suites of doors on the same corridor flow naturally. Grain direction, veneer grade (A/B), thickness (0.6 mm standard, 2.0 mm reconstituted on request) and finish colour are confirmed on a pre-production sample before bulk production.

40Solid wood vs veneer — what is the difference?

We produce both constructions. Our standard wooden door uses solid wood stiles and rails with an engineered MDF/HDF or finger-jointed pine core, faced with natural veneer. A 100% solid wood option is available for premium interior doors, where the entire leaf is kiln-dried oak, walnut or ash.

For most projects we recommend the veneer-over-engineered-core build: it looks identical to solid wood, is more dimensionally stable across humidity swings, and costs 20-30% less. Thickness options are 40, 50 or 60 mm with 25-45 dB sound insulation and a thermal transmittance of 1.5-3.0 W/m²·K.

41Do your steel doors carry CE certification?

Yes. Our steel doors are CE marked under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR 305/2011), with Notified Body test reports to EN 1627-1630 (security) and EN ISO 10140 (sound). We also hold Intertek WHI US C-Mark listings and SGS factory audit certificates, so the same door line can be shipped to the EU, UK, North America and Middle East without re-testing.

On every container we pack the DoP (Declaration of Performance), CE label, installation manual and maintenance guide. If your project requires local equivalence (e.g. UKCA, GCC SASO), our engineering team will prepare the technical file for your certification body.

42What is the weight and frame size of your steel doors?

A standard 960×2050 mm steel door with a 70 mm leaf weighs approximately 45-55 kg; the 90 mm leaf weighs 65-75 kg. The frame depth is 100 mm for standard interior walls and 120-150 mm for partitions, and can be produced to your exact wall thickness on project orders.

The frame is a welded one-piece galvanised box section with an adjustable reveal (±15 mm) to simplify installation on site. Three heavy-duty welded stainless hinges (100 kg rated each) are standard. Leaf size is fully customisable from 700×2000 mm up to 1200×2400 mm.

43How do you prevent steel doors from rusting?

Every steel door leaf and frame starts as a hot-dip galvanised cold-rolled steel sheet. Before finishing it goes through a seven-stage pre-treatment line: degreasing, pickling, phosphate conversion and chromate-free passivation. The surface is then finished with polyester powder coating (60-80 microns) or optional fluorocarbon paint for coastal projects.

This system passes a 480-hour salt-spray test (ASTM B117) with no red rust, which is why we offer a 10-year corrosion warranty on the frame and leaf. Hinges, lock faceplates and pull handles are stainless steel 304/316 so the whole set ages consistently.

44What security level do your steel doors provide?

Our steel security doors are fitted with European multi-point mortise locks (up to 5 locking points), anti-drill cylinders and reinforced strike plates. The BerlinGuard series uses a double-point anti-theft lock; SlatePrime and ArdenPanel ship with a multi-point lock and brushed stainless pull handle, and smart keypad/fingerprint panels are available as an upgrade.

The leaf is made of cold-rolled & galvanised steel sheet 0.8-1.2 mm thick on each skin, with a 70-90 mm overall depth and 35 dB sound insulation. Frame depth and locking geometry can be engineered to your local EN 1627-1630 RC2/RC3 requirement.
